South of France Kosher Restaurant Guide
If you’re planning a trip to the French Riviera and keeping kosher, you’re in luck. The South of France has an incredible amount of kosher options, scattered throughout the region. Here’s a quick breakdown of what I found city by city.
Cannes
Cannes quickly became my favorite city on this trip. It has seven kosher restaurants plus a kosher supermarket that seemed to stock a little bit of everything. It doesn’t have great kosher breakfast options though.
Juan Les Pins/ Antibes
What really surprised me was Antibes. Specifically, the seaside neighborhood of Juan-les-Pins, where you’ll find a cluster of nearly 20 kosher restaurants, all within walking distance of one another. Felt like the most family oriented and laid back part of the French Riviera.
Saint Tropez
Saint-Tropez is more limited in options, but what it has is special. The local Chabad runs a kosher restaurant set in their open-air terrace, a gorgeous setting to enjoy a meal. They also operate a small kosher market for basics. The Chabad also has Shabbat meals available.
Nice
Finally, Nice rounds things out with around 15 kosher restaurants spread throughout the city. For me, Nice seems like the busiest and largest of the cities in the area, and I preferred Cannes’ energy a lot more.
